DAF Trucks releases day-in-the-life DAFaid video
DAF Trucks has produced a documentary film portraying DAFaid vehicle repairs and showing first-hand the challenging work carried out by its DAFaid Technicians.
‘DAFaid – What Happens When a Truck Breaks Down’ was shot in the run-up to Christmas 2019 and offers a behind-the-scenes appreciation of DAFaid’s industry-leading service, from call-out to ‘wheels rolling’. The 15-minute film is also a reminder of the essential role that all commercial vehicle technicians currently play as the coronavirus outbreak continues and lockdown measures are extended; ensuring trucks can fulfil deliveries to supermarkets, hospitals and other key services.

DAF Trucks to host virtual truck show over Bank Holiday weekend
With the truck industry’s traditional show season this spring cancelled following the ongoing health emergency in the UK, DAF Trucks has arranged its own virtual online truck show for drivers and owner-operators.
Right across this VE Day 75 Bank Holiday weekend, DAF Trucks will be connecting with the UK’s truck driving community on its Social Media platforms, inviting individuals to share images of their vehicles. DAF Trucks hopes drivers will lavish attention on their vehicles and present them for judging as they would at any ‘live’ truck show.
The event coincides with DAF Trucks offer of a free cuppa for truckers to mark the VE Day 75 Bank Holiday, where any driver, regardless of the make and model of their vehicle, can claim a free hot drink at participating Truckstops.
Virtual truck show participants can compete in three categories; ‘Best Working DAF Truck’, ‘Best Show DAF Truck’ and ‘Best Classic DAF or Leyland Truck’. The virtual show is being staged in conjunction with DAF Driver magazine, with the winner in each category earning themselves a professional photo-shoot with their vehicle to feature alongside a full operator profile in the next issue of the magazine. The three winning trucks will also take pride of place on the DAF Trucks stand at Truckfest Peterborough, rescheduled for 30th and 31st August, and to which there will be 20 tickets up for grabs courtesy of Live Promotions.
DAF XF awarded ‘Fleet Truck of the Year 2019’
The popular DAF XF series has been elected ‘Fleet Truck of the Year 2019’ at the prestigious MT Awards in the United Kingdom. This recognition follows a large number of top awards for the market-leading truck series in a number of European countries.
Nearly-new DAF First Choice Trucks with full warranty
Every First Choice used vehicle from DAF Trucks under four years old is now supplied with a full manufacturer's warranty as standard, with no mileage limit. This unique offering in the used truck market further illustrates DAF Trucks’ industry-leading quality.
DAF First Choice is the quality label under which DAF offers nearly-new trucks. These DAF trucks are under five years old, have no more than 600,000 kilometres on the clock, look like new, and also have a fully documented service history. In addition, these First Choice Trucks have passed more than 200 checks to ensure they are in top technical condition and can deliver maximum reliability — leading to optimal uptime.
